She gathered the right information, asked thoughtful questions, and turned it into clear, actionable steps that made a difference for both staff and students. Her approach was always direct, but she led with kindness and heart, which made her guidance not only effective but also deeply supportive."

"Deb and I worked together for many years in Lake Stevens. She directly supervised the special education department for several years and always provided immediate feedback, strong advocacy, and diligent support no matter how big or small the situation was. Deb worked with a variety of professionals including (but not limited to) teachers, paraeducators, other administrators, speech language pathologists, vision specialists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and more. Deb's ability to develop a cohesive team and work collaboratively with all types of people quickly made her the preferred administrator for many at the high school (not just staff in the special education department). Her earnest dedication to what is best for the child and best for the family is unmatched, and she demonstrates that every day through her actions. Of every principal I have worked with, Deb's leadership is the fiercest, the most supportive, and the most solution oriented."
